Best & Worst Dressed at the 2016 Golden Globes | {Shelbie}

January 12, 2016
Well, the 2016 Golden Globes was definitely one for the books. From Ricky Gervias' uncensored, but predictable jokes to some of the very surprising and unusual winners, the high-profile event was what some are calling "painful to watch" and "possibly the worst Golden Globes ever." Although many were disappointed, there is always one thing we can count on—the fashion.

Best Dressed:

Alicia Vikander has been on everyone's radar this year. The Swedish actress rocked 2015 with amazing performances in The Danish Girl, Ex Machina and The Man From U.N.C.L.E., and she most definitely rocked the Golden Globes red carpet. The new "it girl" looked classically stunning in the white Louis Vuitton dress.

Marilyn Monroe, I mean Lady Gaga, absolutely owned the Golden Globes this year. The American Horror Story: Hotel Countess slayed the red carpet in a custom black Versace gown that hugged her body in all the right places. Not only did she get to go home with her dreamy fiancé, Taylor Kinney, but she also took home an award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture made for Television.

No surprise here, Jennifer Lawrence is making everyone's best-dressed list yet again. The Joy star demanded attention in a vibrant red Dior gown, a 156.77 carat diamond necklace, and her sleek 'do. The simple red dress fit her beautifully, while the diamond choker drew attention the star's beautiful fresh-faced look.

Rosie Huntington-Whitley's look might have been my favorite of the night. Her soft, tousled curls and natural makeup paired perfectly with the gold Atelier Versace dress—she absolutely glowed. My favorite part of her look though, was the new bling on her finger! Jason Statham, you did good. The Victoria Secret Angel officially has it all. I mean, who wouldn't want to be engaged to a rugged, yet dapper guy like Statham?

Just missed the cut for best dressed: Giuliana Rancic, Taraji P. Henson, Heidi Klum, and Corinne Foxx!

Worst Dressed:

Rooney Mara has definitely given herself the reputation as a red carpet risk-taker, but did she take too much of a risk this time? The ruffled Alexander McQueen dress completely washed out the Carol star. I also think she missed the mark with her hair—the slicked-back braid didn't go with the dress either. I did love her classic makeup though!

Bryce Dallas Howard shined in of one of the best films of the year, Jurassic World, but unfortunately, didn't shine at the Golden Globes. I will definitely give the 34-year-old actress props for admitting she bought her dress off the rack because it gives her more options as a size 6. I just think the lacy Jenny Packham dress aged the star, and didn't do her beautiful curves justice.

I always love Katy Perry's quirky, outgoing style, but this is the Golden Globes. I didn't mind her dress so much, but I can't get over the fact that she actually wore a bump-it in her hair! Her body looked absolutely rocking in the rose quartz Prada gown, but sadly she missed the mark with the hair.

Regina King's sequin Krikor Jabotian dress reminded me of fish scales. The heavy-looking caped gold gown just completely missed the mark for me. The 44-year-old has a beautiful body, and I wish she would've chosen a gown that accentuated it more.

Who were your favorites?
