Some pretty flowers from my Valentine! And, a sneak peak of our dining room :)

The past few weeks haven't been too exciting over here—my life is typically pretty boring during the winter! A few weeks ago, I had to travel back to Des Moines for work for a few days, so I went a couple days early to see some friends! I've definitely missed them—it's tough to move from a city where I had my best friends and sister, to a city where, to be honest, I haven't really met any new girlfriends yet (working from home = limited social interaction), so it's certainly nice to get back there every other month or so!

It was a great time with them over the weekend, but by Monday afternoon at work, I started feeling pretty sick (body aches, chills, headache—not fun). I ended up going home a day early due to even more snow that came that Wednesday, but let's be honest, I was pretty happy to get back to these two.

Living in Lincoln definitely has its perks—and being able to go to a lot of the basketball games is one of them! It'll also be nice to no longer have to travel every weekend in the fall for the football games. Last week, Zac and I went to the Wisconsin game—aaaand we lost, but it was still a good game. Plus, it gave me a great excuse to try out my new red NYX lipstick (verdict = obsessed).

Also last week, my mom and Megan came to help out with some more house projects—mainly just a few things here and there in the living room and kitchen that needed to be finished. The living room is almost done, there are just a few more decor pieces I need to complete it. I'll definitely be sharing before-and-after photos of the living room, kitchen, and dining room soon! Rex decided he needed to help my mom paint the stair railing, as you can see...

This past weekend, we didn't do a whole lot, but we did go out on a double date with our friends Chea and Amanda on Valentine's Day. Hibachi grills are kind of our thing, and I had yet to try out Shogun in Lincoln, so that's where we headed. The food was awesome—we'll definitely be back!

The next morning, Chea and Zac made us breakfast to continue the Valentine's Day weekend. Guys cooking in the kitchen is kind of the best.

If you know me at all, you know I'm not a very big breakfast fan. But this was delicious.. good job guys!

It was a great weekend, finished off by watching Shameless (me & Zac's favorite show to watch together) and The Bachelor on Sunday night. I mean, watching the girls' WTF faces as they visited Arlington was pretty great, am I right?!
